It's not too late.

So today was pretty nostalgic, for better or worse.  For one, I bumped into Emily this afternoon as Yardhouse, and it's been nearly four years since I've seen her.  She's still the same cheerful girl, and she asked if I still hang out with the group.  It's a shame that she eventually faded out of our group, but it happens.

And speaking of our group, Courtney called me today.  She sounded pretty troubled, and the reason was from a voicemail left by Sherman.  It was a pretty sour topic, but it was definitely one sided to say the least.  But because of this one voicemail, we were all able to actually "talk."  In all honestly, it's been awhile since we've had these types of conversations.  But it is nobody's fault.  Even though the voicemail caused a lot of angry reactions, I was glad it happened because I was able to clear a lot of things up with both Courtney and Sherman.  I was always hesitant to bring up certain topics with Sherman, but it all came out tonight.  I've never felt so satisfied rehashing some darker memories before.  Without getting it too deep into detail, I think we've became even closer friends tonight.

New found addiction.

Within the past week, I have fallen to Diablo's spell.  With the hype among-st my friends, I decided to be apart of this "adventure" in gaming.  So Lawrence, Ashraf, G, and myself have been saving the world ever since.  Lawrence takes form of an intelligent wizard and Ashraf takes the role of a fearless barbarian.  G plays the mysterious demon hunter as I control a honorable monk.  From sharing treasures to traveling through foreign lands, we have endured both accomplishments and defeats upon heaven and hellish realms.

Four boys clicking on their mouses while group chatting on skype, we are badasses.

Embrace the races.

My stamina is improving.  Come to think of it, I'm just working towards getting it back.  The amount of miles I ran in high school would've definitely helped if only I had continued.  It's okay though, with all this running and swimming, I'll get back on track soon enough.

With work entering it's third month, things are slowly settling down.  Having only four cases, I'm still searching for a few more to satisfy the hours.  I am, however, seeing improvement with what I am doing.  All of the concepts and strategies are becoming second nature to me.  Also, one of my supervisors was nice enough to start teaching me sign language. I just need to get more engaged with the overall idea of "work."

Throwback Thursday

On January of 2009, I took up snowboarding.  I was able to purchase all the equipment at nearly half cost due to my connections at Chick's Sporting Goods and Sport Chalet at the time.  Brian, Glenn, and Andrew have always talked about snowboarding in the Summer prior, so I was getting pretty hyped for the season. However, they ended up not going at all that season, so I went with my co-workers.

The first trip was a success.  Falling was anticipated, but I picked it up relatively fast and I was ready to go again.  The second trip, however, was a different story.  We managed to get nearly a third of the employees to go, so it was starting out to be a fun day.  The weather was great; I was able to wear a thin long-sleeve and still feel the sun's rays.  The session was about over and we decided to make one.....last....trip.

On my way down, I notice Mike, Erin, Tony, and Darren just sitting towards the side.  I joined them, realizing that they were debating about attempting this box that was towards the end.  Erin was scared, and she said that if I'd do it, she would follow.  After a short chat, I told them I was going to go first.  So I went, with this immature confidence.  As I quickly approached the box, I gained more speed than I had anticipated.  For a person that barely got the hang of it, I immediate realized I had no idea what I was doing.  As I lifted off the incline, the weight of my body drew backwards, exposing my body horizontally towards the box.  My tailbone was the first the make contact with the box, then my body just slid across the rest of it.

It happened so fast, and before I knew it I was already on the floor on the other end.  I heard gasps from the people all around, and I couldn't feel the lower half of my body.  Mike was the first to approach me, and I just told him "take off the bindings, take off the bindings.."  He removed the board from my feet, and I just laid there on my stomach.  The pain was indescribable, but I remember my whole body shaking uncontrollably.  I also remembered Rhea, Brock, and Nick finding us there.  I noticed Erin crying because she kept telling me it was her fault.  Everything was such a blur, at one point I even thought I was going to be paralyzed.  Then finally a girl came to my aid.  Her name was Bambi, and all of us started joking about her name and my failure.  I was then placed on a sled, attached to her snowmobile, and she drove me all the way down to the medical center.

Something else happened in that room, but I will refrain from writing it. I'll remember it just by reading this post. Anyways, I ended up with a fractured tailbone and was required to sit on a doughnut looking cushion for about a month.

Ever since I joined the Instagram community, I've noticed a trend a pictures being posted on every Thursday.  They are simply old, often nostalgic, pictures that people want to bring back to share, calling it Throwback Thursday.  However, I want to start something like that on my blog.  Instead of pictures, I want to write a piece on a fond or special memory of mine prior to having this blog. I've always regretted myself for not making this blog sooner, but I guess here is my chance to recall some of those memories on record.

Hold still, please.

I finally took my camera out a couple days ago. It's been awhile since I just focused shooting in an outing. But unfortunately it didn't last as long as I wanted it to, but it was a good start. I just need to find that something to spark my interest to engage.

Also, things have been looking up. I've never felt this content in a long while. Maybe cause I'm actually doing the things in which I enjoy, and the things that are obviously good for me. I thank my friends for the all the cardio activities that I am doing. I would have never expected to see my self running or swimming for a routine, but here I am. I am definitely seeing improvement, and boy does it feel good.

Hotdog cravings.

I was never much of a hotdog boy, but I've been craving it a lot more lately.  I'm sure the Dodgers' game played a big part to building that up for me.  Speaking of which, it was my first ever Dodgers' game this past weekend, and what a great game to start it all off!  Rachel tried her best to filled me in on certain political aspects of the game.  The game started off pretty slow and uninteresting since no one scored till the 8th inning.  The game eventually went into overtime and the Nationals failed to make a run, so it was up to the Dodgers to finish it then and there.  There was so much hype for the next batter, Matt Kemp.  The stadium played a montage of his feats throughout the season and the fans were cheering "MVP."  I've never witnessed so much pressure for one single person in my life, I felt sorry for the guy.  He came out swinging two strikes, causing many fans to grow silent from they positive cheers.  But before the stadium completely lost its hope, he delivered a powerful contact with the third pitch.  As the ball soars through the air, the roars from the crowd exploded as it passes the outfield.  Just like that, Dodgers won a game in a very close and rare situation.  What a game to see live.
