Don't worry, don't worry.

One of my kids said that to his mom today.  That really hits it home for me.

I had to lead.

I mean, I'm not used to being in this position, so maybe I'm handling it all wrong.

School day's over.

My term with THINK Together has reached its end.  Just like I anticipated, it was a very sad departure.  Parents, school staff, volunteers, coworkers, and of course the students all gave me their best wishes and love.  I don't think I have ever given that many hugs in one afternoon in my life.  One third grader in particular said a few things that cause me to tear up instantly.  Luckily no one noticed as I just continued to send each student off to their parents.  I promised them that I will be visiting at least once a month for the remaining school year, and that's a promise I won't break.  Thank you for all the experience you have given me to work with the youth, and I'm sure you will find someone even better to take my place.  Take care, Granite Hill.

The first of many to come.

Yesterday was Shannon/Mikol's wedding. It was my first experience attending a wedding of a friend, let alone being the photographer for it.  Despite the scheduling conflict due to my work, I was able to get in one quality hour of shots.  I've known Shannon for about 9 years now, and our friendship was humorously sparked through instant messaging in junior high/high school.  We have all grown up so much, and she looked stunningly beautiful yesterday.  Congratulations!

Video Games #1

I'm honestly glad to have video game sessions with Hannah.  Playing video games with a little sister is rejuvenating to the mind.  Our genre of games are mainly revolved around zombies so far.  First it was Left 4 Dead 2, and now it's Minecraft.

As for Minecraft, I am extremely looking forward to our survival.  I think I may start a blogging series about it on here, even perhaps adding screenshots.  We will see if it's entertaining enough to write, haha.

Behavioral Therapist

That will be my new title now. I will be working for California Psychcare and things are looking brighter.  Thanks to Alyssa, I am able to broaden my experience with youth services.

I am going to miss THINK Together, being it my last day this Friday.

Another set of keys.

Thanks to Danny, I was able to purchase his wooden upright piano.  It was an offer I couldn't just let it slip by, so with the help of some friends, I was able to transport that beauty back to my house.  It now lays in the vacant bedroom downstairs.  Which gives me the motivation of the long awaited project of turning that place into my recording room.  I think I will start doing that by next week, slowly transferring all musically related items down.  Let's see how this will turn out.

Back in the scene.

It's been about a year since I've been to a show.  But coming back to three of my favorite artists is an awesome way to return to the scene.  This caused me to look back at the old ticket stubs I've collected over the past six years.  Here's a record of the artists I have seen.

  • Bob Dylan
  • Castledoor (x2)
  • Cinematic Sunrise
  • Conor Oberst
  • Daphne Loves Derby
  • Eisley
  • Elton John
  • Everybody Else
  • Fleet Foxes
  • Gogol Bordello
  • Honorary Title
  • Iron and Wine
  • James Taylor
  • Jenny Lewis
  • Kevin Devine
  • Mae
  • Minus the Bear
  • Moving Units (x2)
  • My American Heart
  • Plain White T's
  • Rooney
  • Saosin
  • Shout Out Louds
  • The Swell Season

I've most likely missed a few, but thank goodness I am finally adding more to this list.

Thank you, THINK.

Despite the rough and bitter moments we had towards the end, I am still grateful for all the things you have taught me.  I would've never thought that I would follow the career path of education.  I am going to miss these kids, and I hope I would get to have plenty of chances to visit them.  Thank you for giving me the experience, and thank you for trusting me with the responsibilities.  I once thought that I could've excel within the company, but I guess we weren't that great of a match in the end.  It's been a fun two years, go Astros!

I submitted my two weeks notice yesterday, so the countdown to the last day will be bittersweet.
