Sing a song for them.
Music tends to be more soothing and fitting while in new grounds. Looking out at the different rural areas passing by while giving new artists a chance is the best introduction they can get.
I got back from my mini-vacation yesterday around 6:30pm. It was a short, but yet a fulfilling three days. The Grand Canyon was of course the highlight out of the whole trip. It was everything I had expected, besides being with a bunch of other tourists. We went to the West Grand Canyon, which was still apparently under jurisdiction of a Native American tribe, and it contained the newly made attraction, the Sky Walk. Amidst all the wind and annoying tourists, the landscape was unbelievable.
The stop in Las Vegas was nothing special for my mom and I however, given the fact that we go there like three times a year. The only difference this time around was that our brothers weren't present, giving us the time to just walk down Las Vegas Blvd.
Minus the gambling and drinking, I've never noticed how festive and entertaining Las Vegas was. My mother and I tried to catch every available free show, our efforts only took us so far, givin the factor that the heavy winds cancelled a majority of the shows there. But this time around, the Bellagio fountain show was a little bit more special than usual. It was more meaningful.
All in all, the trip was a success, but it's always good to be home.
Congratulations to Glenn for getting his license back.
Congratulations to Courtney for going to DC for interning.
Congratulations to Waldo for graduating in a few months.
And congratulations to myself, in advance, for being an uncle, once again.

There are places I remember.
These past three days have been very comforting. I've been seeing old faces and old settings a lot more, and that is a good thing.
I had a photoshoot with Meesh at the same location we had two years ago with Lawrence.
I played basketball with my 6th grade best friend Mike Pedro back at our childhood park.
I hung out with Andy Chan back in Montebello, where I first originally met him.
Ever since last year, I'll admit, I have tried keeping myself distant from certain friends because of a particular event. But things have changed, I realized that those friendships were hard to come by. I am slowly working my way back, calling one old friend at a time, making things back to the way they were. Things come in full circles, right? Socially excluding oneself is unhealthy anyways.
I am leaving for the Grand Canyon in seven hours. I finished packing, I'm ready for a vacation for two with my mom. And when I come back, I will be back to the way I was 2 years ago, I promise.

Brief history lesson.
Keep Calm, Carry On, a poster designed by an anonymous civil servant in 1939 during the beginning of World War II. It was a "last case scenario" to be used only should the Nazis succeed in invading Great Britain, in order to stiffen resolve. Two and a half million copies were printed and were used across the country for motivational purposes.

Will nature make a man of me yet?
This girl, I can never tell what she is thinking, and I've known her for 4 years already.
On another note, my love of photography has been growing rapidly throughout these past weeks for me. However, I have realized that I actually don't like being in pictures themselves, but rather taking them. If it is for or with a special situation or someone, I will then volunteer myself to be in it.
Plans for Spring Break:
-Grand Canyon
-Las Vegas
-Hoover Dam
-Amoeba Records
-Photoshoots
-Basketball
-Reunion at Courtneys

Lets make mom happy.
My family and I got together for dinner yesterday evening. It's hard to get everyone together in one table these days. Sean, Jason, and I all sat in a row across from mom. She looked content and stress-free for the first time in awhile. Dinner was short, but in that brief amount of time I knew there was nothing more my mom would ask for in an evening while looking at us all sitting together and eating.
I'm going to the Grand Canyon with her this week. I'm looking forward to it.

You are what you love.
I've been on Spring break for four days now;
and I still have ten more days to go. Not bad at all.
Last quarter of school was actually not as hard as I expected. For the amount of effort I had put in, I should not be getting the grades that I had received. School is becoming rather repetitive and irrelevant to my life, but it will not get any easier from this point. All my classes from this point will be business-oriented. If everything follows through as planned, I will be out by next Spring.

Daphne doesn't really love Derby.
The following was taken from a birthday greeting card (12-27-07):
"So people always ask me who "David Wong" is. Whether it's from the facebook photo albums or just cause I mention you so much, it's always the same question: "WHO IS DAVID WONG?" Before, I used to just shrug it off and say you were just a friend but it wasn't until the last time, when my friend Alex asked me, that I realized we were much more than just neighbors or friends. So I responded with, "David is the best friend." That's right, I called you my best and I feel that we've been through so much in just the past year, more than most people can ever say. I hope you have a wonderful birthday, David. I will always be there for you, you know that."

One simple phone call.
I received a very surprising, but yet a heartwarming phone call yesterday.
His name is Toshi Park, a Korean foreign exchange student that resided in Japan.
-Hello?
-Hi, David?
-Yes, Toshi??
-Yes, how are you doing
-Oh my god, I'm doing good, how about you? Where are you right now?
-I am doing good, I am back in Japan now. I came back to Japan around last quarter.
-Oh ok, that is good to hear, so you are back with you family?
-Yes, and David, I have a job now!
-Already? What kind of job?
-I am a computer programmer now!
-Oh shit, that is awesome Toshi! Congratulations man.
-Thank you, David. The reason why I called you today is to tell you that I am grateful to have met you. Thank you so much.
-....Hey, no problem Toshi, it was a pleasure of mine. Thanks for calling though.
-I had a good time in California and I wish to go back sometime. You should come to Japan sometime.
-I plan to, and if I do, I will know who to call, haha.
-Well, I have to go, Thanks again David.
-Ok, your welcome Toshi. You take care ok?
-You too, goodbye!
-Bye!
Things are looking alright.
One simple phone call made my whole college experience, about 3 years, worth it.

Wherever you go, there you are.
-If you have every reason to hate someone, you have every reason to care-
I once had a conversation with someone about that subject.
She is in her own bubble now.
Every once in awhile,
I would look around and give myself a time to recall a memory.
I would look around and see my surroundings
and the people that are accompanying me.
Things have changed.
Lets just hope that it keeps changing, for the better.
I have a blog now.
My very own blog, my very own writing desk, my very own little world.
